The Holiday Pot-Luck

The Holiday Pot-Luck
Monday, December 12
7:00 PM
Pacific Mariners Yacht Club – 13915 Panay Way, Marina del Rey

Well here we are again, another season of excellent racing behind us, a new season just around the corner, holidays coming and going. Time to eat.

The holidays are a time to celebrate old friendships and to acknowledge new ones. 2016 has been a very good year for the Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association. The stalwarts have stalwarted along, and members who had drifted away have reached back. Perhaps most important, new people have appeared and taken active roles in organization. The 2017 membership roster in likely to be the largest in the thirty-five year history of the PSSA. So we have a lot to celebrate. We have new people to meet and old friends to welcome back.

The days of food assignments are long past. Now you just bring something that you like and bring enough for six – perhaps a salad, an appetizer, an entrée, a dessert – entirely up to you. But please note that it is the lease obligation of the Pacific Mariners Yacht Club to prevent the importation of spirits. Now we’re not talking ghosts here, we’re talking booze. You can’t BYOB, but PMYC has a bar, and it will be open.

7:00 PM for the food, and during the eating maybe a short speech from the incoming Commodore, probably an introduction of the new Vice Commodore, certainly the presentation of the Perpetual Trophies.
